Free Rice

FreeRice has provided a nifty little vocabulary challenge that will simultaneously stimulate your brain and feed a hungry person.

Go play! For every correct response you give, 10 grains of rice are donated to the United Nations to help end world hunger. 212, 660, 970 grains were donated yesterday!

This morning I was cruising along until I hit this word.....D-R-U-B!

Drub? What the heck does that mean? Well, it means: to beat, to thump, to defeat soundly.

Sigh....

I made it to level 43 and I raised just over 700 grains of rice.

What are you waiting for? You know you want to play~ hop on over to FreeRice!

If you got 700 before you missed one, you did way better than me. I just kept playing even when I missed some. I got up over 3,100 or so before I gave up. It just kept going on and on and on for over an hour I've been playing, guessing some, knew more than I realized. But many of the words were repeated after about a half hour. I was impressed with how many different ones there were though. Thanks for sharing. I don't know where you find all this neat stuff. Hopefully the UN won't divide up the rice like they did the "Oil for Food"........hehehe. Buggers. Man, seeing double after playing that so long. TTFN and God bless. :-)

Hey there Beverly and James!

(Can you both see me waving from my corner of cyber-space? I'm the one covered in mashed pumpkin and Karo syrup...don't even ask, it's been a crazy Thanksgiving morning!)

Anyhow, thanks for your comments. I really enjoyed the FreeRice site...glad you both did as well!

Beverly, I hope that you (and yours) have a great Thanksgiving too!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
